Built by Alco-Brooks in April of 1911, it was originally Lake Shore & Michigan Southern #5308, then in 1915 Lake Erie & Western #5393 (serial #49509) before sliding over to the Nickel Plate roster as NKP 493. Specs - class G-16v, 63" drivers, 180 psi boiler pressure, 25x32" cylinders, engine weight of 236,730 lb, tractive effort of 48,571 lb.
