Portraits 6. Here is a steam locomotive portrait of Pennsylvania Railroad engine #137, an L-1S (2-8-2) "Mikado" built in Juniata during June of 1916 and retired in October of 1956 after 40 years of faithful service. The open door of the baggage car leads me to believe that this is one of the Pennsy's famous "Off The Beaten Path" railfan excursion trains. The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded. (#24 of 43) |
