TRB. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken at the western approach to the Rockville Bridge near Marysville, Pennsylvania. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9495 and two more units whose road numbers are not recorded. All were built by Fairbanks-Morse. #9495 is an FF-16 built in October of 1950, rated at 1,600 horsepower, and retired in April of 1965 after just 15 years of revenue service. In this context, they're about to cross the Bridge with a fully-loaded mineral train out of Altoona and the coal mines of Western Pennsylvania. The photographer's name and the exact date are not recorded. |
