PRR 5839, EP-22, 1952         
FM. Here is a duplicate 35mm B&W slide of a photo by Fred McLeod that was taken near Millerstown, Pennsylvania. Photo Caption: "'Manhattan Limited,' westbound, along Juniata River between Harrisburg and Altoona. Summer, 1952." Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5839 and another unit whose road number is not recorded. Both are EP-22's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,250 horsepower each. #5839 was constructed in February of 1951. This photo comes from a slide set entitled "Horseshoe Curve, Pennsylvania Railroad" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (22-73).
