AHC. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Robert R. Malinowski that was taken at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 5 June 1965. Shown here are Pennsylvania Railroad engine #7204 and two more units whose road numbers are not recorded. All were built by GM-EMD. #7204 is an EFS-17M built in November of 1957 and rated at 1,750 horsepower. In this context, they're descending the Allegheny Mountains and rounding the Curve with a mineral train fresh from the coal mines of Western Pennsylvania. ("PrrFan18n") |
