Burkey. Here is an original photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1959. Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6811, an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in August of 1926 and retired in September of 1959. Partially visible at the left is PRR engine #6361, a B-6SB (0-6-0) switcher built in Juniata in July of 1926 and retired in February of 1959. Also visible at the left is the top of the East Altoona Coaling Tipple. (#19 of 25) |
