Madison Mine #1, builder's plate and bell  Contributor's Pick!
It's a little hard to read but this is the builder's plate for Madison Mine #1, a Baldwin S-12. Having zoomed in before, I figured this is Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton builder's number 76010. You can see the Baldwin circle and Lima diamond shapes. Sorry that I couldn't grab any more info, however, Dolzall and Dolzall list 76010 as the original Monongahela 419 in their book "Diesels from Eddystone (Kalmbach, 1984)" When this unit was transferred to Madison Mine #1 from the Monongahela is not known. The bell, painted black, is mounted on the frame. Sure wish I could have heard that one!
