Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken at Greenwich Yard in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, c. 1961. The photographer is not identified. Shown here (L to R) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4926 and two more locomotives whose road numbers are not recorded. All are GG-1 (2-C-C-2) electric engines rated at 4,620 horsepower each. #4926 was built in Juniata during August of 1942. Along with their respective trains, they're awaiting the return of the passengers after the end of the annual Army-Navy football game on a chilly Thanksgiving-weekend afternoon.. |
