Classic Americana! What more is needed? An ALCO road-switcher, and three cars. Congratulations of the EP.

The GM&O's Dwight to Washington (Illinois) branch became a favorite. I was attending Eureka College, graduating in 1972, and would drive the 10 miles to Washington after class. I would then follow the line until found the local and chase it back to Washington. Power was, with one exception, an RS-1 all of the times that I caught it. The caboose on the train is a wooden one originally used on the Mobile & Ohio. I liked the previous one better - a wooden ex-B&O. This train ran from Dwight to Washington on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, returning the following day. At least some of the crew slept in the caboose.

Very happy to see this photo. Do you have any photos from further north: La Rose, Varna, Evans, Wenona, or the spur to Lacon? I know that part isn't as scenic but grew up near that part of the line and would love tosee some photos, especially toward the end before it was torn up in 1980.
