Top Photo Caption: "At 2:48 p.m., the Birmingham-bound 'Silver Comet' of the Seaboard Air Line prepares to leave Wilmington behind No. 4911, a PRR GG-1 fresh from the shop." Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4911, a GG-1 (2-C-C-2) electric built in Juniata during January of 1942 and rated at 4,620 horsepower. |
