| Built by ALCo-Brooks in January of 1913 (NYC records say 9/1912) as Lake Shore & Michigan Southern #4019 (serial #52787, class H-7a) it was later transferred to the Michigan Central roster in May of 1917 as MC #7959. Later in August 1936 it was renumbered again to NYC #2059. The loco was retired in November of 1953 and sold for scrap in 1954. This photo was taken as it awaited the scrapper's torch in Sterling, IL, probably the last photo ever taken of it. Unknown photographer |
