Here is the front cover of a 15-page booklet published by the Pennsylvania Railroad entitled "Modern Cars And Locomotives: 1926." The cover illustration comes from Harold M. Brett's 1924 painting entitled "Speed and Security" which depicts the "Broadway Limited" passing over the Susquehanna River via the Rockville Bridge. Prominent here is PRR engine #5357, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during March of 1924 and retired in February of 1949 after 25 years of faithful service. |
