FM. Here is an image of a photo by Fred McLeod that was taken near South Fork, Pennsylvania, on 21 July 1951. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5541, a T-1 (4-4-4-4) "Duplex" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during June of 1946 and retired in December of 1953 after just seven years of revenue service. Note the "Troop Sleeper" immediately behind the tender. This image comes from a B&W slide set entitled "Horseshoe Curve, Pennsylvania Railroad" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa. William E. Burket Collection. |
