WR. Here is the third of three related images of photos by William H. Rau that were taken at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1892. In the foreground is one of the City of Altoona's reservoirs. At the far right (R to L) are the Pennsylvania Railroad's circular wooden water tank, the three-track overhead coaling wharf, as well as the Kittanning Point Passenger Station and NK Tower. The ancient Kittanning Indian Trail passed through this very valley. William E. Burket Collection. |
