| In 2012 the BNSF Railway repainted 27 grain hoppers with logos commemorating the various railroad which made up the BNSF. Each of these component railroads had their logos applied to three covered hoppers: Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe, Burlington Northern, Chicago Burlington & Quincy, Colorado & Southern, Great Northern, Northern Pacific, Spokane Portland & Seattle and St. Louis- San Francisco (Frisco). One of the Burlington Northern Legacy cars, BNSF 485059, was spotted in a westbound grain train, BNSF G-CEGLVN9-22, making its way through the Columbia River Gorge as it traveled from Chester, Montana, to Longview, Washington, roughly 75 miles ahead.
