'D' Branch under construction
The end of the B&M welded rail train is seen from the Park Drive bridge, looking southwest, at the site of the future Fenway station. To the right of the photo is the new ROW that will make up the MBTA Green Line's 'D' Branch. The Highland Branch connection the welded rail train sits on will become a MOW siding extending to just before the bridge when this work is complete. The rest, from under the bridge, to what is now Lansdowne Station on the Commuter Rail Framingham/Worcester Line, will be torn up. Ralph L. Phillips photo, from the Ralph L. Phillips collection of the Bay State Model Railroad Museum.
