To meet the challenges of the mountainous Cumberland Division, B&O hit on the powerful 2-10-2 Santa Fe type wheel configuraton. This one was built by Baldwin in January of 1924 (serial #57594) and the loco served for nearly 30 years before being sold for scrap in September of 1954.
