With a little more than three years left to serve, Frisco 2-8-0 Consolidation #1228 looks fairly good for its age. The loco was built by the Burnham, Wms & Co (Baldwin predecessor) in October of 1907 (serial #31961) and was rebuilt in 1930 with an added superheater and piston valves. It was sold for scrap in January of 1952. Specs - class 1226, 57" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 22x30" cylinders, engine weight of 207,000 lb, tractive effort of 43,300 lb. Arthur B.
