Frisco 2-8-0 Consolidation #1236 looks good as it sits in an unidentified location in Kansas City, MO. Built by Burnham, Wms & Co in October of 1907, the loco was rebuilt in 1930 and had a superheater and piston valves added. As late as 1948, it was working the mines around Clinton (state?). The loco finally met up with the scrapper's torch in January of 1952. Specs - class 1226, 57" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 22x30" cylinders, engine weight of 207,000 lb, tractive effort of 43,300 lb. Arthur B. Johnson photo. |
