With its days already numbered, this 1907 Burnham, Wms & Co 2-8-0 Consolidation #1250 still looks in fairly good shape. The loco had a superheater and piston valves added during a rebuild in 1930. It was last listed on the diagram book in 3/1/1947 until disappearing sometime after - presumedly scrapped like the rest of the class 1226. Specs - class 1226, 57" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 22x30" cylinders, engine weight of 207,000 lb, tractive effort of 43,300 lb. Arthur B. Johnson photo |
