| Outside the enginehouse at Chama is K-37 491. 491 was built by the Rio Grande in 1928 from Standard Gauge 2-8-0 1126. It was retired in 1970 and stored in Alamosa. In 1972 it was donated to the Colorado State Historical Society. 491 would continue to sit in Alamosa until 1985 when it was moved to the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden. 491 was restored to operation in 2014. |
