CR Caboose #21264 - Wabash Valley RR Museum
Jumping many decades from the previous PRR wooden caboose is this Conrail caboose on display at the Wabash Valley RR Museum. According to the information sign posted by the caboose, it was built in Alexandria, VA shops of the Gruit Growers Express Company for Conrail in 1978. The Conrail order was one of the last oders placed for cabooses. It serviced the area mostly between Danville and Peoria, IL. When Conrail was broken up, the caboose went to CSX and used in local switcher duties out of Peoria.

Tom Beckett General Cool set, and good to give a boost to an organization that is doing good work. I was just through Terre Haute, but in a rush. Will have to stop here some time when on the way to Cleveland. I looked to see if I had any shots of this car, came close but no cigar: I have 21244 and 21257.So close!! 10/28/2023 6:19:18 AM
