Built by the Burnham, Wms & Company (Baldwin predecessor) in December of 1895, the loco was originally Chicago, Milwaukee & St Paul Vauclain compound 4-6-0 #830 but not for long. It was renumbered in 4/1899 to CMStP #203, renumbered in 11/1905 to CMStP #841, renumbered in 12/1912 to CMStP #4003, rebuilt & renumbered in 7/1914 to CMStP #2253, and finally renumbered in 6/1938 to CMStP&P #1188. After serving nearly 50 years, the loco was scrapped in October of 1945. Simplified specs - 63" drivers, 180 psi boiler pressure, 19x26" cylinders, modest engine wt of 132,500 lb nad modest tractive effort of 22,794 lb. No photographer was listed for the photo. |
