| As the sun sets rapidly on a beautiful fall Sunday a pair of NS units; NS 1627 - NS 9542 switches out a cut of cars in the former Norfolk & Western yard in Crewe, VA. NS 1627 was built as NW 1627 and has kept that number all of her life, and thus far escaped the dreaded "admiral cab" rebuild, being one in only a handful of remaining high hood SDs left on the NS roster. |
