Long before a GP7 wore the B&O #6142, this 2-10-2 Santa Fe type steam locomotive had the honor of being BO #6142. Built by Baldwin in December of 1923, it served for nearly 34 years before it was retired in 1957. - Class S-1, 64" drivers, 220 psi boiler pressure, 30x32" cylinders, engine weight of 436,510 lb, impressive tractive effort of 84,300 lb.
