Here is a photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken near Lima, Ohio, on 16 July 1946. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6796, an M-1B (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Lima Locomotive Works as an M-1A during April of 1930, rebuilt in Juniata as an M-1B in June of 1946, and retired in October of 1956 after 26 years of faithful service. In this context, it's rockin' 'n' rollin' with a manifest freight. Gary Mittner Collection. (#11,111) |
