Here is an original photo by George Silcott that was taken at the Route 161 overpass near Worthington, Ohio, c. 1947. Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9908, an H-10S (2-8-0) "Consolidated" built by the American Locomotive Company as number "9709" during June of 1913, renumbered "8898" in 1919, later renumbered "9908," and retired in 1950 after 37 years of service. Note the word "PENNSYLVANIA" embossed into the bridge's concrete! ("Tidebass"; #1 of 1) |
