Caught heading up a commuter run is New Jersey Transit GP40FH-2 #4143. The loco was built in September of 1966 as CRIP GP40 #361 but bounced through several rosters along the way. It was rebuilt by Morrison-Knudsen using IANR and CRIP #361 parts with a newly fabricated cowling.. After its NJT service was over, the loco finally landed on the USDOT roster as DOTX GP40FH-2 #4143. The last photo taken of it was takne in 2015. Current disposition is unknown. No location, exact day or photographer was given for the photo. Thanks to Mike Brotzman who identified the location (see comment below), the location has been listed as Egg Harbor, NJ, which is the location of several other photos in the batch acquired. Thanks, Mike, for your help! |
