| The former West German main electric loco works were at Opladen, north of Cologne. The works somewhat controversially closed in 2003 and all the repair work moved to Dessau in the former East Germany. One of the last activities at Opladen was stripping withdrawn class 103 locos, such as these, of useable components before they made the short trip across the road for scrapping. |
