CSXT'S S&NA South Sub
CSXT Ballast Train A00604 shoves back dumping ballast on the new double track as a puff of white smoke shoots out of the exhaust stacks, CSXT is building new double track between Parkwood & Graces, Al. This ballast train was delivered to the CSXT all the way from Wisconsin, quite a rare find for Alabama to see these WSOR units working in the deep south, but particularly rare that they are old SD20'S. Definitely one of the rarest finds I've ever seen in the south.

Brian Connolly General Nice shot- thanks for sharing. I hope the CSX crews are taking good care of the 20s! It's nice that we're seeing some big GEs and EMDs up on WSOR tracks in Wisconsin, but it's only nice as long as I know that the ex-skunks are being treated well. 2/12/2007 10:00:45 PM
william davis General Thanks Brian, I'm sure CSXT is taking care of them. CSXT put a BNSF SD40-2 6731 ( Yellow & Blue Bonnet Santa Fe ) in the lead when it departed back north. I wanted to chase it, but it got called during the night & when I woke up that morning the train was already in Nashville. I would've preferred the WSOR SD20'S running solo, but it was still a nice consist nevertheless. I just didn't feel like driving way up there when the weather was supposed to turn cloudy in the afternoon, too risky. 2/13/2007 9:54:29 AM
