This is "a" broken rail where the cars went off into the field near the Illini FS buildings. This was not the cause of the derailment. One truck went on the ground about 100 ft. west of the N. West St./CR 600E grade crossing. It sliced through the cold pack in that grade crossing and the Vine St. grade crossing like it was butter. Somewhere between Vine St. and Illini FS that car apparently tipped over and took several other cars with it.
