Tim Huemmer General Lots of cool deails here. I'm baffled by the Position light signal and semaphore that appear to guard the same track? I've got a 1964 ETT for the C&WI. I'll have to look at that and see if it provides any clues. 3/14/2007 11:04:21 AM
Tim Huemmer General After looking some more, it looks like the 3 bladed semaphore masts are facing the camera. Still a very interesting signal bridge! 3/14/2007 12:43:32 PM
Bob Lalich General The multihead semaphores are for SB trains entering the interlocking at 81st St. The other signals are ABS for NB trains. The position light is for track #3 which was signaled in both directions at this time. CWI commuter trains used track #3. 1/21/2008 7:50:37 AM
Ian Johnstone General Wow its a not all the same but I got a dvd that shows this in the 40s and maybe 50s with PRR and NYC steam on the rails also great shot!!! 1/14/2009 8:27:13 PM
Fred Stuckmann General Nice. 11/20/2009 7:57:45 PM
Kevin Perkins General If you check out http://ntl1.specialcollection.net/scripts/ws.dll?websearch&site=dot_railroads it says that engine1609 was destroyed in the accident. Is this the same engine rebuilt or a different engine carrying that number? 12/19/2009 9:49:26 PM
Ed Cooper General This is the second 1609 built in 1/52 on EMD Order #8003. And 1609 was rebuilt a second time in 1958 after a wreck. 7/31/2013 6:56:49 AM
