Train P633 Departing to Miami With a High Green at 5:57 pm  Contributor's Pick!
Note in the upper corner southbound Amtrak Train #91 that has just left the station on the northbound track waiting for this train to pass and then #91 will cross over and follow it south. Why the dispatcher did not let the Amtrak go first, I don't know.

Stephen Reed General I was the Train Dispatcher this afternoon....I did not hold P091..they ran no 2 track to Orange Blossom and crossed over to no 1 track ahead of P633. 5/24/2007 7:02:36 PM
Marty Bernard General Thanks for commenting. This is great. As I saw it 91 left the station well before P633 and in the picture is stopped and P633 passed it a minute or so after the picture was taken. P633 had a high green, which can be seen in the picture, from at least 5:50. 91 had a restricted signal leaving the station and crawled out of the station. 91 looked like it is stopped so not to foul the major grade crossing just in front of it. My guess is you had to wait (we used to call it "run time") to reverse the northbound track before 91 could go down it. If so it seems to me you could have cleared 91 earlier and it would not have had to be further delayed. It started its station stop at 5:49. You also probably had enough time to have crossed it over south of the station and not delayed P633 but you had cleared P633 too soon to allow this. My guess is that 91 made a shorter station stop that you expected. They were ready to go in a hurry. Anyhow have fun running trains. 5/24/2007 9:29:34 PM
