Appeared in September 2007 Railpace---For a rare second day in a row, Providence & Worcester CT-1 makes an appearance north of Middletown, CT., the train's usual destination, June 28, 2007. The previous day, the train attempted to go to Hartford to interchange with the Connecticut Southern Railroad, however the crew was alerted that the blistering heat had buckled the track, so the train returned to Middletown. CT-1's rear unit, PW 3902, is seen passing the old Wethersfield freight station. The original New Haven Railroad passenger station once stood approximately where the photographer is standing, until it burned down in the early 1900s. Instead of building a new station, the New Haven Railroad modified the freight station to also accommodate passengers. |
