Thank you for sharing your collection of historic Twin Cities railroad photographs! I must say, your aerial shots from the early seventies are priceless for those of us who were not around (as in not alive) to experience those turbulent, yet exciting times on the rails. I have spent many hours pouring over these aerials, attempting to create rough sketches of the track arrangements. I have a question for you regarding the "A" Line of the old NP. I understand that it broke away from Line B at St. Anthony Park Jct, crossed over the GN on a bridge near St. Anthony Tower, passed by the U of MN and crossed the river over Bridge 9, but from there, I am unsure of the location of the right of way. Looking at your photographs it would appear that it threads the railway transfer yard above, and somehow come in close contact with Soo Line track out of the Milwaukee Road Station. But looking at other photographs from the late 1960s, there appears to be a vertical separation in track height between

the two. Was A line track removed prior to the merger, in favor of using the Stone Arch Bridge, or is the A line just not discernable from the photograph?

Excellent! But if I understood the Railway Transfer and the NP "A" and "B" lines and 18th Avenue SE a little bit better maybe I could sleep better at night!
