Louis Brzuchalski General Mr. Heckman: Thanks for your e-mail response. I should have asked first then made a comment, as having worked on the railroad as a clerk for 42 years, I have seen many instances like this here in my hometown. Some that I seen almost resulted in train-vehicle collisions. Instead of taking their time to make sure gates are lowered, the just open up andmove, or when they do start moving, the crossing circute is to close to the crossing itself. Also, I didn,t see the crew member on the steps, who could have passed on any information to the engineer about a possible vehicle approaching. 2/18/2005 2:12:42 PM
