Ryan Swanson General I assure you, they are all dead (or stored at least). They are parked on the now defunct beet spur some distance from the service track & shop. Why? Because UP has a ton o' newer power (which meets Tier 2 standards) and its an extremely expensive proposition to overhaul a 20 year old Dash-8 or SD60 or a 30 year old SD40-2 to meet the same standards...plus they use more fuel, have higher labor/maintenance costs, etc, etc... 10/12/2007 4:44:04 PM
