New Column Tops
Newly fabricated column extensions have been delivered primed and pre-assembled from the steel fabricator. These will be bolted in place atop the repaired columns, effectively raising the finished height of the structure by approximately 2 feet. This reduces the risk of tall vehicles hitting the bridge when passing beneath, and also allows for less ballast weight on the bridge as less ballast is required between the bridge itself and the track.
