WAB 2-8-0 2324 - Wabash Railway
Title:  WAB 2-8-0 2324 - Wabash Railway
Description:  WAB 2324 was part of a 30 unit order built by Burnham, Williams & Co (predecessor of Baldwin Locomotive Works) as a class H-7 for the Wheeling & Lake Erie RR. The locomotive had 58” drivers and an overall engine/tender wheelbase of 57.87”. During the 1920’s, Wabash had acquired these units, supercharged them creating class I3s units. Although these short-haul engines didn’t gain much power, fuel economy may have been the reason behind the upgrade.
