At the right is engine #4760, a P-5A built by General Electric in October of 1932 and retired in November of 1964. At the left is engine #4780, a P-5A (Modified) constructed in Juniata during December of 1934 and retired in April of 1962. |

Photo Caption: "P5a's, like 4760, were built in 1932 with 1250-horsepower-per-driving-axle rating. They were long backbone of Pennsy freight service." Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4760 is a P-5A electric built by General Electric in October of 1932 and retired in November of 1964 after 32 years of service. |

PRR engines #4760 and #4755 are both P-5A (2-C-2) electrics built by General Electric and rated at 3,750 horsepower each. #4760 was constructed during October of 1932 and retired in November of 1964, while #4755 was built during April of 1932 and retired in December of 1962. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Electric Railroading ~ Penn Central and Pennsylvania Lines" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (868-32). |
