Here is page two of a four-page article entitled "Locomotives: Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Lines." It was published originally in the December 1941 issue of "Railroad" magazine, page 57. Top Photo Caption: "All Seashore-lettered passenger engines are Atlantics. Here's 6061, the System's last E3sd machine." #6061 is an E-3SD (4-4-2) "Atlantic" built in Juniata as an E-2A during 1905, rebuilt as an E-3SD in May of 1919, and retired in November of 1948. Bottom Photo Caption: "A tail wind drives steam from cylinder cocks before her as Number 6086 pulls out of Camden, N.J." #6086 is an E-6S (4-4-2) "Atlantic" built in Juniata as PRR number "1708" during July of 1914, renumbered as PRSL "6086" in January of 1937, and retired in 1949. |
