Description: |
PC Power. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of Penn Central Railroad engine #1423, an F3A built by GM-EMD for the Pennsylvania Railroad as EH-15 number "9686" in February of 1949, rated at 1,500 horsepower, later regeared and reclassified as an EF-15A, and renumbered "1423" in preparation for the PRR-NYC merger. The best one can say about this situation is "Oops!" The photographer's name, the date, and the location are not recorded. According to Mr. Mark Branibar, the location is most likely the former New York Central yards in Sharonville, Ohio. |
