Posing in the Bloomington, IL, yard, is this Baldwin 2-8-2 Mikado, BO #4546 built in August of 1918. The loco was renumbered in 1957 as BO #344 and served until being retired and scrapped a year later in July of 1958 at Newark, NJ. Specs - serial #49538, class Q-3, 64" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 26x30" cylinders, engine weight of 292,000 lb, tractive effort of 53,800 lb. Theodore Bulluckus photo
