Title:  Saga Of The DD-1's, Page 38, 1956
Description:  Here is page 11 of an 11-page cover article by Frederick Westing entitled "The Locomotive That Made Penn Station Possible." It was published originally in the October 1956 issue of "Trains" magazine, page 38. Photo Caption: "Second DD-1, built in April 1910, poses for one of those classic photos when the brass stared at the lens and only an engineman showed much life." Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #3999 and #3998; their original two-digit number is "33." Both are DD-1's (2-B+B-2) built in Juniata during April of 1910, rated at 3,160 horsepower, and retired in September of 1947.
