At that time it was numbered 428. It would be renumbered 318 in 1924. After being retired in 1954, it was sold to Cornelius W. Hauck and moved to South Alamosa, CO. In 1958, 318 was moved to the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden. |

Crossing the Platte |
Description: |
Bridging the Platte River on the way out of Denver, a trio of new SD50s get under way. Lead 5501 was built by EMD in August 1984 and was only two months old. Trailing 5516 was only one month old. 5501 was renumbered to UP 5095 in 2001 and again to 9845 in 2002. It would be retired in the late 2000s. |
