Description:  After Republic Steel in Troy, NY, closed, their 65-tonner would go to the D&H's Colonie shops (seen here between an unidentified D&H RS-3 and another loco). A book containing the serial numbers and dispostions of all Whitcomb-build locomotives says this engine became the property of the NRHS Mohawk & Hudson chapter, but its fate beyond that is unknown. Description:  Originally built as a 65-ton switcher for the US Army in July 1944, this loco was modified into a 75-tonner while it worked for Gulf Oil. Here it is shortly after it was aquired for preservation with an Anthracite Railroads Historical Society reporting mark.
