BO 2-10-0 #6500 - Baltimore & Ohio
Title:  BO 2-10-0 #6500 - Baltimore & Ohio
Description:  Built by Alco-Brooks in June of 1907 as Buffalo, Rochester & Pittsburgh #501, this 2-10-0 decapod and its sisters were designated helper units in a 17 mile stretch between between Clarion and Freeman, PA. In 1932, the B&O formally absorbed the Buffalo, Rochester & Pittsburg with this loco being renumbered B&O #6500. The loco lasted in helper service where needed until being scrapped in December of 1948. Original specs - class Y, 52" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 24x28" cylinders, engine wt of 268,000 lb and tractive effort of 52,730 lb. The photo comes from the Ralph G. Dunn collection.

Title:  BO 2-10-0 #6504 - Baltimore & Ohio
Description:  Originally built as Buffalo, Rochester & Pittsburgh 2-10-0 decapod #505, it was formally absorbed into the B&O roster in 1932 and subsequently renumbered B&O #6504. It lasted in service until March of 1949 when it was retired and scrapped. Original specs - class Y, 52" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 24x28" cylinders, engine wt of 268,000 lb and tractive effort of 52,730 lb. The photo comes from the Ralph G. Dunn collection.

Title:  BO 2-10-0 #6507 - Baltimore & Ohio
Description:  Originally built by Alco-Brooks in September of 1909, this 2-10-0 decapod helper was numbered Buffalo, Rochester & Pittsburgh #508. In 1932 when the B&O finally absorbed the Buffalo, Rochester & Pitts burgh, this loco was renumbered B&O #6507. Somewhere along the way it a superheater was added. The loco was retired and scrapped in 1949. Original specs - class Y, 52" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 24x28" cylinders, engine wt of 268,000 lb and tractive effort of 52,730 lb.
