Originally built as Buffalo, Rochester & Pittsburgh 2-10-0 decapod #505, it was formally absorbed into the B&O roster in 1932 and subsequently renumbered B&O #6504. It lasted in service until March of 1949 when it was retired and scrapped. Original specs - class Y, 52" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 24x28" cylinders, engine wt of 268,000 lb and tractive effort of 52,730 lb. The photo comes from the Ralph G. Dunn collection. |
