CRIP DL-107 #621 - Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific
Title:  CRIP DL-107 #621 - Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific
Description:  Nicknamed "Christine" (not sure why), this Alco DL-107 model was built in October of 1941. It had the unusual experience of being repowered by Alco's rival, EMD. The engine had dual V12 prime movers installed in June of 1953. It had a sharp appearance but unfortunately, the loco was sold for scrap in January of 1968. No date, location or photographer was given for the photo so approximates were used.

CRIP FA-1m #131 - Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific
Title:  CRIP FA-1m #131 - Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific
Description:  A trio of Alcos head up a long string of boxcars in an unidentified stretch of track. Rebuilt by EMD sometime in the mid 1950s, the Alco diesel had two V16-567 prime movers installed. This would have made it a formidable powerhouse. No date, location or photographer was listed for the photo so approximates were used. Thanks to Mike Woodruff (see comment below), the location is Palmer Lake Joint Line in Colorado. Thank Mike for the help!

CRIP RS3 #490 - Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific
Title:  CRIP RS3 #490 - Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific
Description:  Like a true Alco switcher, this RS3 is smoking like a steam loco wanna-be. Built in November of 1951, its primary duty was commuter service in the Chicago area. Note the dual side doors on these carbon-steel Pullman commuter cars. They had the unfortunate nickname of "cattle cars" primarily for the ability to pack in a large numbers of commuters like the namesake side door cattle cars used to do. No date, location or photographer was given for the photo so approximates were used.
