Description: |
For over 40 years, my grandfather (H. R. Feltman), sat at this desk and managed the daily affairs of the railroad's business at Lineville. Sadly, I can't go back and pose for this photo again as this is ALL gone |

Just to the left of the air conditioner, wrapped in the manilla envelope, is the waybill for the pulpwood load and all the other loads in the outside track to be picked up by Manchester (GA) bound train #309 later in the day. Just to the left of the manilla envelope is the waybill box for northbound cars to be picked up by Birmingham (AL) bound train #330, which has already run on this date as the bill box is mostly empty. |

Prior to the extension to this location, the south switch to the siding was several hundred yards north of the Crooked Creek Bridge in the foreground |
Description: |
In addition to a major siding extension, the Cragford defect detector had to be moved as the new siding location ran right thru the former detector building. The new defect detector will be placed on the far right, just before Crooked Creek Bridge |

With the extension of the siding, the old jointed rail was replaced with brand new welded rail. This view looks southeast at the Crooked Creek Bridge |
Description: |
Cragford, Alabama had the distinction in Atlantic Coast Line/Seaboard Coast Line history as being the only siding on the Lineville Subdivision that was signalled (the signal indication to take the siding also was the indication for whether or not the siding track was clear or occupied). Cragford was on a major grade with compensating curves and near zero visibility leading to the decision to wire the siding. |
